Blooming Great Kids: Term 1 Week 9: Respecting Adults
Respecting Adults
Next week, the focus for the week is respecting Adults. Apart from respecting yourself, it is important to respect others around you. There are many adults around our school and home. It may be your teachers, a replacement teacher when your teacher is absent, perhaps your next door neighbour and even parents and relatives. Sometimes we do not realise it, but these
people are always looking after us, making sure we are safe and happy. A great way to show these people we appreciate their help and concerns is to show them respect. We can do this in lots of ways – by saying please and thankyou, by giving way, by offering to help, just by listening when they speak. Respecting adults is important. All of us like and expect people to respect us, and we certainly expect people to re- spect the adults we know well and love, like our parents, grandparents and teachers. It is very hurtful when someone says disrespectful things about your family and this can cause you to become very angry. So, respecting all adults shows everyone that we are friendly and appreciative children at
Lalor Gardens PS. At home parents can remind your children to always use their manners and expect them to comply with your requests eg cleaning up their room, going to bed on time, helping with the dishes and of course to say please and thankyou, excuse me/sorry, and do so with a smile.
LGPS STUDENTS AT THE AUSTRALIAN SCHOOLS AND UNIVERSITIES
KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Monica Dimovska, Stephanie Dimovska, Hussain Al-Najar and Jaffer Al-Najar will be repre- senting Lalor Gardens Primary School at the Australian Schools and University Champion- ships at Liverpool in Sydney from April 10—12. All four students are members of and train with WGKA Karate Academy DOJO in Lalor. On the community’s behalf, I wish these students all the best and I know they will be great sportspeople when they compete. It is fantastic that stu- dents undertake physical activity and are part of sporting clubs outside of school. We are all looking forward to hearing about your exploits after the term one vacation break.
